natural color fill for teak windows

Post by mudskipper »

Good Morning to All, Happy 4th of July I hope the big bangs you get are the ones you want. I have a 1988 40 trawler. I need to fill cracks in the mill work of the front windows. They are outside, and the wood has Cemco on it from the previous owner. It drives ships engineer [ daughter Rose] nuts. I still cannot decide on what finish to use. but water is coming in just a bit and I want to fill those small cracks soon. Can anyone suggest a filler or caulk to use? I don't post much, but I greatly appreciate the good information and read the posts most days. Still no computer or tv on the boat. When I'm on Aquarius all I have is my cell phone.

I am not sure what exactly you are asking but you can mix teak sanding dust with epoxy and it will have some teak color to it. Mix it to a "peanut butter" consistancy. Sprinkle more teak dust on it after you have applied the mixture and that will make it more teak-like. That should seal the crack.
Then you can apply finish.
