Swim platform attachements

Post by seblyte »

Hi, I just wanted to tell everyone that if you have unexplained leaks (36 Classic 1983) then consider the wooden stiffeners in the transom and the lower rubbing strake. They both screw iinto wooden batons inside the boat which have been glassed over. All mine were completely rotten and I have now replaced them all. It's a big job in terms of time but the end results are good and permanant and no more rot and leaks. I'd be happy to share what I did.

Hey Seblyte, glad to hear you had good luck with your repairs.

Please, if you have the time, post the details. It would be usefull for our "Classic" owning members to have the reference, and many of us with different boats still appreciate a good maintenance project!

And, of course, photos if you have them! :-)

Hi Doug, I'm back at the yard on Friday and will take some pics and write a full account.

Cheers, Sebastian
