Bonjour, I am a new member

Post by Canucklou »

I just bought an Albin 43'. I had a sailboat since 20 years before so, the change is BIG......I live in Quebec Canada and I use my boat only in Winter time when I want to escape winter weather so, I keep it in Indiantown, Florida when I am home. I have a lot to learn and I hope I will find many answers to my questions inside this group.

Bienvenue CanuckLou!

That's quite a change from a sailboat! I look forward to hearing your questions and your adventures!

Best of luck with the new boat!

Thanks for joining AOG. Is your boat also your Fl. home? Certainly is big enough. Post some pictures.

Welcome!

We also went from a sailboat to an Albin, although nothing as grand as yours. May you have many happy hours on board!

Thanks.

I attached a picture of our boat. Her name is Sophie Ann.
Last month, we bought it in Savannah GA and we navigated 350 miles to Indiantown FL. This is the only experience I had with an Albin so far.
We planned to go back in USA in October to make some repair and maintenance and we will try to go in Bahamas (Exumas) until the end of winter.

Bonjour Louis et Françoise
Hello, I'm from Quebec also and I will be buying a 28 TE in the next few months. I just sold my Princecraft 206 fishing boat and the bank has OK'd the purchase of a new boat. I'm actually looking for a 2000 to 2005 model. There seems to be quite a few for sale on the East Coast and I will have it hauled to Lake Champlain where I will take from there to my home town on the Richelieu river. Next summer I will take it up to Ottawa and then plan to take it down the Rideau Canal and head towards Cobourg or Port Darlington where it will spend the summer fishing for salmon. I will be reading a lot on this foum myself to pick up some ideas and learn more about these boats.
If you know of anyone selling a 28 TE let me know and I will contact them. I'm giving myself until the end of september to shop for one.
