The magic water stain fix

The picture shows the good old water stain on teak. I googled how to fix water stains on teak and came up with;-
Lay a dry tea towel over the white mark. Iron on the towel with an iron set on medium. Go over area a few times, lift towel. Repeat until mark is gone. I've done this to remove water stains from spilled vases and white steam stains on cupboard doors. It really does work.
After that, there was a hole bucnch of replys saying IT WORKED!!
Have you guys ever heard or tried this?

Tea towel = dish towel ie the cotton or linen towel you dry your dishes with.

So yesterday I went to the boat to try this. Took my pinkie with me and forgot the iron and towel. Sure is fun getting old :(

I asked the admiral about this technique (antiques dealer). She told me she's heard of it but never tried it. She would be concerned about the heat. She still recommends 0000 steel wool and Goop.

Don't recommend steel wool on a boat. Flakes of steel wool = rust...

Since I don't own a boat with all that teak I wanted to ask. Is that teak laminate? If it is I wouldn't use a steam iron.

Very good point. I think the walls and horizontal stuff is probably laminate
