Good Day to You All! My name is Bill Cranor, I live in Virginia and have sailed/boated the Cheasapeake Bay and North Carolina Sounds for 20+ years. I've owned and sailed a variety of boats, from a Grumman canoe with a blue tarp for a sail, to an Albin Vega 27, Tartan 27, Herreschoff H28, Allied Princess 36' ketch, Columbia 24....and on. I'm delighted to find this site...the enthusiasm is fantastic tho' not suprising. The Albin Vega, My first boat, also has a devoted following of edified lunatics offering solid advice and sharing multiple resources, the Club at the time headed by the venerable Sid Rosen was well "attended". I rescued my Albin 25, from the back lot of a local boatyard where she'd been allowed to "sink on the hard" i.e. fill with rainwater. She was built in Sweden in 1970, Hull# 457. I've cleaned up and launched the boat a year and half ago,and continue to work on her as time and money allow. The hull and decks are pristine, stiff decks and cabin tops, with no sign of blistering anywhere below the waterline. There are soft tops for the pilothouse and center cockpit in decent shape. The interior doors, cabinets and panels have not faired so well; being in various stages of delamination, tho' the frames have held up well. Tho' not running, I have measured optimism about the onboard Universal diesel. I need to find a new home for this boat, I also have a 1969 Pearson 300 pilothouse sloop demanding attention, which is better suited to my Wife and two daughters. I'm asking $3500.00..!?!?! The boat is in the water, slip paid 'til June. Any thoughts or suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks!! Bill "...too many boats...not enuf time!"

Hey Parker, Thanks for the virtual nod. The Pearson 300 turned up after I had purchased the Albin 25. It seems to be a rare cousin to the famous Pearson Wanderer w/o the centerboard, and with the addition of a pilothouse style cabin. It offers much more cabin space for my wife , two daughters and I. My approach to boating now is excitement with a sailing dinghy, i.e. Windmill...and comfort in a pilothouse style boat. Both the Albin and the Pearson offer their occupants relief from the sun and rain, comfortable accomodations and the privacy of an enclosed head...all importantant for my lady folk. I'm not sure it's acceptable to offer the Albin25 up for sale on this site...I don't want to seem opportunistic....but it sure seems to be an opportunity to play to the audience! These are really cool boats! I will try to post pics soon! Off to work! Cheers! b.
