My name is Paul Melanson and I am a broker with Advantage Yacht Sales in Newburyport Ma. AYS is the Albin dealer in Northern New England. I have been associated with the Albin brand since 2003. I have had the opportunity to work with many Albin owners over the years and have had considerable experience in operating and delivering A28’s through A35 throughout NE.

As you all know the Albin is a great boat. I hope I have the pleasure of meeting many of you in the days to come.

Have a great holiday season.

Paul, I just bought a 1977 27' Albin 82 motorsailer. Do you have any info on this boat? Hull #60. Is there a dealer for same in New England?
I am repowering with a Beta 38 HP marine diesel to replace the old Volvo 35. Would like to know who made the roller furler for headsails and if parts are available. Needs new drum and splice for extrusion. Appreciate any info you can provide.

Welcome to AOG Paul. As a broker I'm sure you spend time on quite a few boats. What is your personal preference?

As you know all the models in the fleet are great. With the exception of the A40, I have had the opportunity to operate all the different current models. Given the boaters requirements there is a boat in the fleet to meet each of them.
The 28 is perfect for the young family for weekend cruising and fishing.
The 31TE and 35TE is great for the offshore fisherman. With the twin engine option one cold feel comfortable venturing far offshore.
The 35CB with its economical single engine configuration, spacious forward cabin, and great visibility form the bridge make it ideal for the retired couple contemplating extensive cruising.
I don’t have a preference but as I get older the 35CB is looking better and better.

Ever since I got my 32, the 35 with short cockpit, I have never had the dreaded 'itch' again for anything else, except maybe a 32+2. My 1996 was one of the last 32s before the hull was exrended under the platform.

Nothing wrong with the Albin 40, after they have been re rigged and the factory issues sorted out. They are great handling and riding vessels and the price is right on them now.
