New Owner needs Help

Post by cahoots5 »

Hi all: My new to me Albin 28TE (1994) has just arrived from Boston out to Thousand Oaks Ca. Last week. The boat has no manuals so I,m hoping some one out there has a manual on the Hurth HSW 630V 1.56 transmition, need service INFO and the 270 engine??. I ordered a custom trailer from Loadmaster and it has been deleverd, the boat is on the trailer to my side yard, I'm pulling all the electronics, and installing the new system (Raymarine C80 nav) in the boat along with the replacement of the cusions below. Hope to have her in the water come spring?? If you have manuals and can provide help on the location of manuals that will help me big time. ( Boat Name Restless we think??) will see?? Thanks Steve new to the group

Cahoots,

Welcome to the group. I also have a '94 and more than willing to share info when able. As you'll learn by reading some of the posts in this site, there is limited documentation available on our Albins.

I don't have a manual for my transmission, but did get an engine manual. My Albin came with a Mercruiser/BMW D254 (210 hp). I have a source for an engine manual for this engine, but it sounds like you have a different power plant. What engine do you have, by the way?

You'll get to know The Chief who's a participating member of the group. He gained access to set of drawings for some of the major systems for a 1999 TE. He's been very generous in sharing scanned versions of those drawings with the folks here.

I'd be happy to pass those along as well. They are a good reference, but keep in mind... it's for a 1999 and they don't match our boats 1:1.

Good luck with the new boat. It'll be nice having that trailer for it too. You must drive a hell of a vehicle to be able to tow the Albin.

I have the Hurth 630A manual electronically.
Send an e-mail to me at jay.leonard@timken.com and I can reply with the file.

If that's a Cummins engine, you can get the engine manual and complete parts book from Cummins. Just call your local Cummins service center.

Hi Steve! Welcome to the group. Hope to see you around often.
Check our featured links section. There may be something helpful in there.
I must tell you that us East Coast guys are jealous right now. I woke up to frost this morning.
