The Yanmar mechanic was going to remove and service the fuel pump on our 2001 28' Tournament Express with a Yanmar 300 hp STE LP. He remarked that it was a major job because he can't get the wrench on the pump to remove it. The boat is not here but at his site and thus, I can't be more specific.
Does anyone know if this is a difficult task and/or how to remove it easily.
We have stopped the work pending any insight from this forum.
Thanks in advance for any info

The 6LP does not have a conventional lift pump to feed the injection pump. The injection pump has a built in suction pump. I have not serviced one so can't give the feedback you are looking for. I know some components of this engine require specific Yanmar tools. A Yanmar certified mechanic is your best bet. Perhaps a call to Mack Boring or Mastry.
