Hi All -

I joined a couple days ago and am still getting the feel for the group. You all have good taste in boats!

Although I am not presently an Albin owner, I am looking for a classic 27' Family Cruiser or Sport.

About me... I've worked at two marinas and a marine electronics manufacturer. I have done everything from bottom paint to becoming an OMC Certified Outboard Mechanic. No diesel experience though. I've owned 14 boats (last count) throughout my life ranging from my first 12' Glen-L TNT to Checkmates, Bajas and Donzi's to my present Carver 28' Mid-Cabin Express. Put a couple Pacemaker cabin cruisers in there too.

Why an Albin 27 now? A friend once told me that sooner or later I will want a boat that "goes slow enough that you can hear the blender run..." It's about that time. My "go fast" days are over. It's time to enjoy life and boating at a relaxing pace.

I'll be absorbing much info from this site and will have a few questions for those that own one, I'm sure!

AND... I've done my best to "fit in" so I will be drinking my favorite beverage from my new AOG Kozees I just ordered!

welcome, i, too, decided that speed was not important as i entered my "adult" boating life.

will be enjoying our first full season with our 28te cruising to block island or offshore fishing grounds at a comfy 18 knots.

cheers! mick

Thanks for the welcome.

I forgot to mention that my homeport is Southold, NY, on the eastern end of Long Island.
I've been to Block Island several times and... I've been to Essex Island Marina in CT!

You mean if I show up on a certain day in July this summer the marina may be overrun with Albins? :)

About my home port: Maybe I should "stick a pin in it" but I wasn't sure if it was only for Albin owners and not just "lookers".

Good move Hetek! I own a motorsailer 25... I got one of my brother to bought an Albin25 too, and I still have to convince my older brother to leave his Big Engine cruiser for an Albin... But it is not an easy one!
Hope you will find a good one at good price... last years many good 27 when for sale on yatchworld... still one in the For sale section...

Yes, I've seen that one. Very nice shape from the pictures.

I've "stuck a pin in it" - my homeport, that is. There are actually two Albins at my marina already. I'd be in good company!

Welcome to AOG and thanks for becoming a supporting member. Anyone can "stick a pin".

Thanks again for joining,
