Newbie to forum but not Albin owner......Yet

Post by reefdrifter »

Hello all......
My name is Bob and I am new to this part of the woods.....My wife and I are in the process of looking at different trawler type boats and have an Albin aft cabin in mind. We hope to be in the trawler family soon and cruising around the SW Florida area. We live in Punta Gorda/Port Charlotte area so there are plenty of places to go. We have had several boats over the years but never a trawler. I guess we are ready for the slow boat. Who knows.....we might see more at a slower pace. Looking forward to good information from you guys.

Welcome. Good luck with the hunt. there are quite a few A27ACs around.

Life in the slow lane is great. You tend to look around more as you cruise. Also at 8kts you don't have to hold you drink so you won't spill it as you would pounding across the water at 30kts.

You don't have to slow down much for no wake zones. You are already going slow.

At 1.5gph fuel burn having enough money in the boating budget to go somewhere is not an issue. Having the time to get there is.
