Hello Group!! My name is Charles Tasso and I am the Director of Marketing & Sales for C&C Marine Inc., in Bristol RI. I am excited to inform you that the Legend is Back!! We have started production of the Albin 28 Tournament Express. We will also build the 31 TE and the 35 TE & Command Bridge as the market demands. C&C Marine Inc. will build and market the Albin line as: Albin Boats by C&C Marine, similar to our other line: NorthCoast Boats by C&C Marine.

C&C Marine Inc. is a division of C&C Fiberglass Components, a family owned and operated company known industry wide as a leader in the production of composite products, both marine and non-marine. Some of our marine projects include the construction of the new J-95 (Sail Magazine's 2009 Boat of the Year), building the J-111, building the hulls, decks, and tooling for Hunt Yachts, and several other smaller boat lines and custom boats. In spite of the soft marine market, we keep our team busy by building numerous non-marine products such as: fiberglass car bodies for the Cobra replicas (at one point, we were building 15 bodies per week!), we have built several composite bus body shells (35' long and infused), fiberglass Jeep tops, and many other products.

To date, we have appointed three quality dealers: Standish Boat Yard in Tiverton, RI., owned by Ken Hilton; Advantage Yacht Sales in Newburyport, MA., owned by Jack Wasson and Doug Giuliana; Sassafras Harbor Marina Yacht Sales in Georgetown, MD., owned by Joe Smith. This is a top notch group of dealers that we are proud to be associated with. I will let the group know as we appoint additional dealers. If anyone knows of a potential dealer, please let me know.

I want all of you to know that C&C Marine is proud to be part of this Great Albin Heritage, and we look forward to a long and exciting future with Albin Boats!!!

Have a wonderful holiday season!!!

Hello Charles, I am a new member as well, and am actually shopping for an Albin, looking at one with an I/O setup this weekend. Can you or any other members tell me the pluses and minuses to the Volvo IO setup on the Albin 28TE? I will be looking at one Sunday and am concerned that it's not the "original"/"master" power plant. Cheers, Eric

We are pleased to hear the news. Hopefully your customer service will be of help to many old Albin owners. Did you take custody of all the old Albin production records? Many on this forum have questions from time to time about a prop or shaft or other such things.

Charles,
So glad to hear from you that Albins will be manufactured again. The boats are well-designed and have drawn buyers for a long time. I have heard good things about your company so I have hopes that the new Albins you make will be even better than the ones owned by everyone on this forum. Good luck to you -- I hope the economy improves soon so you can step up production.

I would like to thank all of you for your warm welcome and words of encouragement. C&C Marine believes in taking the time and make changes when needed in order to build a quality product. Our philosophy on boat building coupled with great Albin designs will assure continued growth of the Albin Legacy!! To help clarify to the AOG membership, C&C Marine did not acquire any assets or liabilities from any party associated with Albin. We have the rights to the use of the Albin logos and molds to market and build the 28, 31, and the 35 ft models. Unfortunately, we do not have any records or files and we are not in the position to honor any warranty of previously built boats. We will however, try to assist any Albin owner any way that we can. I suspect that some of the members may recognize the names of the dealers that we have appointed thus far. I have asked them to be aware that I have listed them on the forum and to help when possible. They were only too happy to agree to do so!! I will also ask any future dealers to be involved with the AOG, as well. As I mentioned, the first boat is moving along. The plumbing, electrical, and mechanical is being installed and the deck will be installed next Monday. This boat will be at the Providence Boat Show in January, attended by Standish Boat Yard and the NE Boat Show in February, attended by both Standish Boat Yard and Advantage Yacht Sales. If any members are interested in visiting our facility in Bristol, RI., send me an email @ sales_AT_northcoastboats.com, and I will try to accommodate them.

Regards,

Charles Tasso

Don't forget to specify Peninsular Diesel(s) for your new Albin boat!

Charles, I was given your name by someone else at C&C and haven't had an opportunity to contact you yet.
I look forward to talking to you soon.

Charles and C&C:
Welcome and very best wishes on the Albin continuation news. Some time ago, when another company started production of some of the Albin boats, I suggested that many current owners of these boats might be willing to help by acting as local unofficial representatives of the company. The enthusiasm that many of us show is a resource that should not be overlooked, especially when proposed dealerships are few and far apart. Many of us would be willing to speak with interested prospective Albin owners in our locales should they be referred to us by the company or one of its dealerships.
Most of us would like to see the Albin line continue for many reasons, one of which is the visible success of a product that we thought enough of to buy. The shakeout of automobiles, boats, and other big-ticket items may be a Darwinian process. If it is, it would be nice to see our brand of boat emerge from the ashes as a survivor because of its fine traits.
C&C might like to pick up this thread and ask for names, locations, and models of Albins that might provide an extended and almost cost-free showroom complete with knowledgeable and friendly hosts.
