Height to Radar Tower
In preparation for shipping I need to know the height from the waterline or the total height from the skeg bottom to the radar tower of a 28TE. Does anyone have that information handy? I am using 7500 lbs as the weight.

Ric I'm about your plans. I do have that info on the boat in my bag of everything Albin/PITOU. It was also in the document library, but that link seems to now be dead stating that the TE file no longer exists. . I'll be aboard later today and grab the bag and post the info up for you if no one else has chimed in.

Ric, if you haven't yet checked ... page 2 of 28 TE Specs .. water draft = 3' - 2" / Air draft w/arch = 8' - 6" / Air draft w/out 7' - 10".

Re: Height to Radar Tower
Dave and Joanne were nice enough to help me take down my Furuno radar dome today in preparation for shipping to FL (first week of November). The whole chore was MUCH easier than I expected. After removing the lid on the dome and about 14 screws holding the covers on the electronics boxes, we easily released the 3 connectors that snap into the circuit boards. These 3 connectors terminate all the conductors that travel through the large cable from the dome down to the radar/chartplotter unit. A small plate screwed into the bottom (blue) plastic part of the dome holds the cable in place. After removing the donut around the cable (interference blocker?) and the plate mentioned above, the plastic connectors fit down through the bottom of the unit with just a little manipulation. The dome was then partially reassembled and tucked below:
I then took the dangling wires, enclosed them in a heavy Zip Lock freezer bag, and taped it up good with Dr Shrink Preservation Tape as it's supposed to blow pretty good tonight and rain hard:
Next chore will be bringing down the antennae and then shrink wrapping the whole arch for security while traveling. The trip will be the equivalent of 48 hours in a category 1 hurricane, so I am planning on taking down the canvas and shrink wrapping the helm and nav panel areas to keep out road dirt and rain should that be encountered. I'm putting my summer clothes in the cabin, rather than the racks in the basement. Won't be long now, as my first round trip tickets are all ready bought & paid for, November 7-14. Endless summer here I come!
