Took a Beautful First cruise of March only because I changed my mind again.
I went out and bought the Honda 2000 companion Generator back in December but it just dosnt sit right with me. Runs great, powers up all fixtures on board but have never been the most careful person with gas so I decided to bite the bullet and go all the way for a complete Diesel Genny, air/heat and windless addition. I have only run it 20 minutes this month so if any one is seeking a new gen with papers box & all get in touch soon. & ran it for 20 miinutes. I got a great preseason price on the setup from a Port Washington Yanmar Mechanic including the Haul, paint, oil and first waxing so I dropped it off there today.
With the help of my Daughter we decanvassed, opened the seacocked and it started right up. With the new Mets Citi Field in the background we passed Laguadia Airport, out to the East River and under the Whitestone & Throggs Neck Bridges. We waved to the Coast Guard, Merchant Marines & a few tugs out there. Passing Steppin Stone Lighthouse a few Kayaks & a Walkaround were out there enjoying the perfect day. 7 little sailboats were out circling their buoys training for days to come. My eyes were scanning for those tell tail swirls of early stripers near the rocks of Manhasset Bay & dreaming of days ahead.
After tieing up at Port Wash and looking back at "Mahalo" (6 times) I enjoyed the company of my oldest Daughter over a nice Meditarainan Brunch. My they are growing up oh so fast.............

Zinbaad,
Thanks for the great description of your cruise. Sounds like it was a good way to start the season. Also, thanks for stimulating the economy!

Re: Took a Beautiful First Cruise of March because I changed my
I spent this past weekend in Manhattan and walked along the East River on the Upper East side both Saturday and Sunday. Despite being overcast there was a good crowd all along the riverfront. The river did look relatively calm and had a nice, consistent current. I thought about being out there also in my 36' Albin Trawler. But it is indoors for a few more months in Southern Maine.
Lucky you. Sounds like you had a great day.
