In my opinion, that is NOT good for us boaters. It will severley reduce the anchorage area. Not a good thing.

I could not figure out if it will disrupt the mooring area or not. There are town owned moorings in front of the marina, do you think the new dock will move the town moorings?

Unless they do a lot of dredging that is the only direction to go.
If they go toward the entrance channel there is the power cable and a beach.
If they go toward the Basin there are private moorings that will have to go somewhere...as in the anchorage which has already been shrunk by private moorings.

I never really liked the way Champlains had boaters dock four up or more. Maybe it will help stop that practice.
For a while, I've been docking at Block Island Boat Basin instead since they have floating docks and I find it
easier to get on and off, also it's less hectic there.
