what happened to me...
since installation of a new peninsular in my '93 TE this year, the oil pressure gage has been intermittant after 10 minutes of operation. the oil light and buzzer do remain off. the light and the gage have separate senders...
the shop replaced the sender for the gage and it seemed to work okay. but after 1 hour of engine operation the light came on and the gage continued to read 45-55 psi at 2900 rpm. fortunately,
i was just about back to the dock.
after shutdown, i found a small leak at the base of the newly replaced gage sender.
the sender for the light is mounted on the turbo housing. it appears the leak at the (lower) gage sender, which is maonter on the block, resulted in just enough of a reduction in oil pressure to trip the switch in the sender for the light....
as near as the shop and i can determine, no damage was done to the turbo...
all seems to be okay now.
the cause of the light comming on was most likely a faulty sender installation by the shop.
