Just finished the rocket launcher project.
I had some stainless piping so I designed and cut all of the pieces and then did a bunch of buffing. I had a welder put is together. Very happy with it although I don't think I needed 14 rod holders. Happy to consult anyone who is thinking about one.

One line per person? Around here 3-5 is normal. Then they put out the planer boards. Never used them myself but I've seen boats with them. Makes your boat up to 90 feet wide (or more) with 20 lines out.
Looks like a hassle when there is alot of traffic.
If I go out with 2 other guys we'll have 7 or 8 lines out when using the outriggers.

I should have indicated that I only use the rack for rod storage. We use different poles for Tuna, Salmon trolling, Salmon mooching, Rock Cod, Halibut, etc. With two or three poles each for 4 or 5 guys, this stows them up and out of the way while running. Except for Tuna, most all of our trolling is with the downriggers.

Wow, interesting! Can you have more on the boat? Or are you just limited to one line in the water at a time?Mariner wrote:Ah, here in Washington it's illegal to have more than one line per person.Elizabeth Ann wrote:I don't know about you Mariner, but when I go fishing I have 2-3 rods for myself, sometimes 5!
