This board was started in Dec. 2005. It crashed in April 2006. I resurrected it April 16th. This is my first post on April 17th.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Saturday morning Sharon and I took Afterglow for her (Sharon's) first cruise. It was the first time in years that Sharon would go out when the wind was blowing and it was choppy. Our last boat was a 266 Sunrunner aft cabin. It sat high in the water with a 8.6 beam. Anything over 2 feet and we were banging all over the place. We called it a clorox bottle because it looked like all the other family cruisers out there. All in all a good learning experience. We had many short-run trips in that boat. After handling that boat (single I/O) my Albin is a dream. Now we are looking forward to the longer trips. I've never been south of the Choptank river on the bay. There are hundreds of places to explore.
Same as it ever was...

John I cant say thanks enough for starting and maintaining this site !
The site and the people on it has helped me in asking questions about the Albin before purchasing, it helped me make the right choices when buying it, it has certainly helped me in maintaining it. Oh and lets not forget some of the people I have met already through it !
Happy 2 1/2 years !!!

I was just thinking about writing something thanking all the members, and John for making this site such a great resource. As an admin, I've been very pleased at how rarely I've felt the need to intervene and fix posts that could be considered offensive, off-topic, or generally negative to the overall experience, that take up so much time on the other sites I've been involved with. (Maybe because John's actually doing all the work!?!)
As a member, I've been thoroughly impressed with the quality of the discussion on the board. Rarely do people get into bickering matches about politics or other such unrelated things, as often happens on other boards I am a member of. I've also been pleased at how much we've been able to help people solve their Albin-related issues, whether they be mechanical or otherwise, and keep it fun and positive for everyone involved.
Once again, I want to offer a heartfelt thank you to all the members and especially to John for getting this site off the ground. Although I've been involved in a number of boating and other subject discussion forum websites, this is the first where I've been fortunate enough to get involved at the very beginning and watch it grow from just an idea to such a successful thing. I look forward to putting together a rendezvous here in the Pacific Northwest, and hopefully I can make it back east for one in the future. We have so many interesting and wonderful members that I dearly wish to meet in person.
Thank you again to everyone.

There is a fair amount of work keeping the board going but, I can't remember having to censor anyone at all. There was one member that I jumped on because I THOUGHT he was an advertiser. The members were nice enough to let me know it was my perception of his post and I was wrong. (I get grumpy in the winter )(Maybe because John's actually doing all the work!?!)
After that I learned to let you guys work it out.
Thanks everyone!
John
