Soundings July '08 28TE Review w/jcollins

Post by Pitou »

I received my monthly subscribtion to SOUNDINGS in the mail yesterday. Low and behold in the USED BOAT REVIEW .... "The Albin 28 TE combines size, accomadations, performance and seaworthines." And who to be interviewed .... one of our fearless leaders ... John Collins. Way to go Captain!!! 8) A small plug for the AOG as well!!! :D

That's Great! Congrats John!

Can someone scan the 'blurb' and post it up here? For those of us who don't get soundings.

8) I haven't seen it yet. I am curious how much it was edited.

Finally got my copy of Soundings! 8) Pretty good article. The picture of Sharon and I are from last years rendezvous. That was taken on the 31 TE. I have since added the striped combing pads to Afterglow. The picture of the boat was taken at the pier of the shore shack. We are moving out of there this month. Afterglow's new home is Porter's Seneca Creek Marina. We are on "D" dock if your ever in the neighborhood. New floating piers, nice pool, etc.

John: Thanks for posting that link. I had not been able to see the article till now. Very nice write up but too bad the statement about Albin no longer building boats is in print.

This would be a great opportunity for Bo Palmer, the owner of Shamrock Boats, to write a letter to the editor. He could make readers aware that the Albin line is alive and well, perhaps more "aliver and weller" than in the recent past. This would be a great follow up for boaters who have become interested in Albins after reading John Coliins' interview. Perhaps it could result in a future article on revival of the Albin.
