Bleeding fuel LD28

Post by Tmack »

Hi Group,
Can someone give me details on bleeding fuel on the LD28? I have the engine manual (from this site) but it's not clear where the bleed points are. The manual does not point them out as far as I can tell. Other engines I've had have had a manual pump lever for bleeding, I don't see something like that on my LD28 (electric fuel pump).

I am tracking down a fuel issue and I will need to bleed the fuel line. This weekend after an hour cruise I throttled back to idle and the engine shut down. Fuel filter look good but the Racor was not full when I opened it (down about an inch). New to me FC27, I'm wondering if the fuel pick up line is high (gage shows 1/2!).

Thanks! Tom

Bumping up my post - someone must have tips on bleeding fuel on the LD28 (I've reviewed lots of Youtube vids, nothing on the LD28). I thought I had a fuel filter problem as I found a bad check valve gasket in old Racor filter, I assumed that fuel had drained back to the tank (tank half full).

Anyway, I have bled fuel from the tank to the injector pump, there is a big nut on the top where fuel comes out when the electric pump is running. However, I am not getting fuel out of the injectors (opened only 1-2 turns) when I crank the engine. I am wondering if the injection pump timing belt is broke. I found mention of this belt in an older post. I have not pulled the cover yet, looks like a PIA, but figured I should look and have a spare belt anyway.

Does anyone have a source for the injection timing belt? I cannot find it on the RockAuto site.
