Time consuming but not a very painful job. Found that 3 of the 6 screws holding the outlet in had nothing more than a piece of the washer in contact with the fiberglass. Ended up building an epoxy/fiberglass tab and drilling it at each spot to take the screws. Other hints:
- had to cut the old hose into 6-7” pieces to get it out.
- used a rope to pull/guide new length of main hose into place while someone pushed from outside (tight fit)
- epoxied nuts/washers into place to receive mounting screws for outlet. Make sure to chase them with a tap after pulling the screws to clear epoxy out.
- once main hose from muffler was in place the outlet with a pre-installed 45 deg elbow could be guided on by a hand inside the hose.
- leave the clamps at each end of main hose loose to allow movement and adjustment.
- did not place hose clamp sets in opposite orientation in order to keep them accessible for repair/tightening
The original main hose was pinched/crushed about 1/4 inch by bulkhead immediately behind muffler. Had to cut the bulkhead opening down about 3/8 in to get new hose on.
