I’m on the final stages of purchasing a 79 43’ trawler.
I have a question and just can’t seem to find the answer.
I’m looking at using my 12’ Carolina skiff with a 20 hp motor as my dinghy.
My question that I can’t find is would I be able to use the mast and boom to lift the skiff? And would I be able to stow it on the aft deck?
According to the Carolina website the boat weighs 230lbs the outboard weighing in at 100lbs. The extras gas tank, safety gear, and small anchor, I figuring it should be well below 500lbs.
Does anyone have any advise or real world experience using the mast and boom lifting weight?
Thank you in advance

Re: Lifting a dinghy with mast and boom
The weight should be OK, just make sure everything is inspected first. Can't help with storage as my 78 is a 36'
