Hello I was curious if anyone has done an Elco electric engine refit swapping out their Cummins diesels basically turning the boat into a diesel electric hybrid with battery banks?
Looking to get a cost estimate if I were to put two Elco electric engines in with one diesel generator as a back up to top up the batteries combined with solar panels and a small wind turbine. Thanks for your time with this.

Re: Electric Elco Engine Refit
This has crossed my mind. I love the idea of a hybrid. I have not done deep research, but I don't think you can fit equivalent HP in the space. Especially if you want any range. If you want to stay at trawler speeds, then maybe possible. Please keep us updated on your research!
