Vetus 55 prop removal
Hey all, I’ve got a vetus 55 on my 31. The prop seems to be fused onto the shaft. Any tips for removal? I do have a new spare in my parts inventory but would prefer not to break it if I can help it. Do any of you grease it when re-installing?

Re: Vetus 55 prop removal
Hey JB - I'm pretty confident that you searched the forum about this and came up empty-handed. My best suggestion would be to call Vetus. Their tech support was very helpful when our unit bit the dust.

Re: Vetus 55 prop removal
Sure did! That’s a good idea! I’ll do that. When I got the boat I had the yard put the zincs on it because I just simply ran out of time. It was launch day and they said they can’t replace the thruster zinc because the prop won’t come off. Due to being last minute I didn’t have time to order a new prop “just in case”……. Going back into winter maintenance mode now. Haul out is in 6 weeks!

Re: Vetus 55 prop removal
I did a quick google: "how to remove vetus prop fused to shaft". You might find some ideas there.
