gasket material

I have an Albin 28 flush deck, and two hatches, one for the engine, and one is the fish box, and when lifted provides access to the seacocks, transmision and batteries. the gasket material that the lids close down on is tired, squashed and flattened out, letting rain water enter the bilge. anyone have any suggestions on the best material to use, and where to purchase it from to replace the old gaskets...........and is there a good way to remove the existing gasket material, there are tricks and methods to everything on these boats, I don't need to learn the hard way. thanks for any help/guidance.

Try compressed neoprene. Same stuff as hatch tape. You can usually buy it from 3-8mm thick (1/8 - 5/16”) it has a sticky back so you can stick it down where needed etc.

thank you, I'll look at Jamestown's website and see what they have, I like the water to stay on the outside of the hull, not in the inside.

He Gregg - I had a hatch on my 31TE that needed new hatch tape to keep the water out.
Just as Tree suggested, I ordered self adhesive Neoprene stripping from from Amazon:
