Found my 25Albin !
I have found my boat! Very pleased to get her home. Definately is in the start of the project stage, first priority will be to get a trailer under her. Not a whole lot planned for the summer. I will begin fabrication of an aluminum cabin this fall/winter.

Re: Found my 25Albin !
Congratulations! The exterior appears to be in excellent shape. Campbell River will be an excellent location to own an Albin with nearby access to the Discovery Islands and the Broughton Islands only a short cruise away.

Re: Found my 25Albin !
We hope to return to BC next summer, maybe even get up to the Broughtons too. By then hopefully you'll have your restoration projects complete and your A25 ship shape & sea worthy. If that ends up being the case we'll be on the look out for a chance to meet up, if not out on the water then maybe at one of the Albineers of BC rendezvous.

It looks like the exterior has been well cared for. Gel coat looks amazingly good! How’s the rest of the boat? Please share the details of the aluminum structure you mentioned building for it.
Nice find

Decided to pull the MD17C and take it to White's Diesel in Campbell River for evaluation. Hoping to do a complete rebuild prior to reinstallation.

That’s no fair, using a skyhook!
Hope it goes well in the shop!
I didn’t replace the seals at the ends of the crankshaft. My front seal, behind the flywheel is weeping a tiny bit and another AOGer’s is leaking at the other end.
Maybe have them go through the transmission too. It’s only money. Peace of mind is valuable.

Re: Found my 25Albin !
Looks like other than the engine there's not much else in need of restoration. But what about the head? Is that direct overboard discharge? Any plans to add a holding tank or switch to composting head? Albin 25s were built with such good quality. The hull's original gelcoat on my 51 year old 1971 still takes a shine with with light polishing. Are your topsides original gelcoat or been painted? When I built & installed my hard top I purposely used removable 3M 4200 adhesive caulking along with through bolting so if ever the need to pull the engine arises I or a future owner can remove the hard top & lift the engine straight up through the roof with a crane like you're doing. Assuming we make it up to PNW next year we'll look for you at one of the BC Albineer rendezvous.

Wow, that's in fantastic condition.
I have an A25 down on Galiano. Very curious to hear how the hard top fabrication goes.

Montague Harbour is one of our favourite stops in the Gulf Islands. We miss Tommy Transit driving the Hummingbird Inn Pub bus."I have an A25 down on Galiano. Very curious to hear how the hard top fabrication goes."
