I have a leak under my kitchen sink coming from the hose/fitting at the base of the sink. The hose seems kind of flimsy, any suggestions on how to change it out, and what type of material to use??
thanks in advance.

Re: kitchen sink discharge hose leak
To change it out, just remove the hose clamps at the sink drain and the thru hull. Make sure to check for any salt deposit corrosion at the thru hull and clean it out with a screw driver. Caveat .. the tailpiece for the drain is 5/8, my thru hull was 3/4. Check to be sure of your thru hull size and replace the hose with appropriate. In my situation, I ended up fitting the hose to the thru hull at 3/4" and carefully tightened down on the tailpiece. Remember, 2 clamps on the thru hull.
I used like and same as original: Shields 141 sink and shower drain hose. It's available at West or Defender.

If the strainer basket or tailpiece is damaged the replacement is from JR Products out of NY through Amazon.

I replaced both at my galley sink this past spring.
