Cummins Oil and Fuel filters.

Post by kowal_53 »

Purchasing Filters from Cummins is expensive. Amazon and others offer these for considerably less. Some of the seller name seem suspect. Buyer$Lair for example had 1 with a faded label picture for $48, and 2 ES LF-9009 filters for $48. Others appear to be real companies. Are thier counterfeit parts on the market?

Yes, the oil filter for your engine is especially expensive through Cummins or any dealer or chandlery making the Amazon deals enticing, but like you I am suspect and just won't do it. Are they knockoffs .. who knows.

Stock up when Seaboard Marine has their annual winter sale for a fair discount and often free shipping. Other than that $60 to $65 seems to be the going rate.

If you can find a local "Fleet Pride Truck Parts" store they will stock Fleetguard filters.
Also Baldwin and Donaldson fitters are great quality and will work fine. Many auto parts store stock or can get those. They might even be able to get Fleetguard if you ask.

I found Baldwin cross referenced parts @ a Fleet Guard near by. They are much cheaper.

LF 9009 oil filter Baldwin bd103 ($47)
FF 5488 fuel filter Baldwin bd7815 ($19)
