Neutral Bypass

Post by Crunchtime »

Went to the new boat this weekend and continued to learn more of the specifics. There is a button near the throttle that looks like someone installed that we cannot figure the purpose. Followed the wires and determined that it is a switch that allows you to start the boat when the throttle is engaged. I put the throttle in the forward position and hit the starter and nothing. Then I pushed the button and held it down and hit the starter and the engine fired up. I happened to have the prop off at the moment for tuning so no movement of the boat.

Does anyone else have anything like this?

Any idea why someone would install this?
