Wiring Access

I believe that I've previously read on this forum that the panel under the area where the main switch panel is located can be removed for access to the wiring in that area. I'm attaching two pictures showing the panel I'm talking about. I removed the two screws that hold the panel at the rear and tried to remove the panel by pulling it down. The aft edge of the panel flexes downward 2-3" but it won't come free at the forward edge or the edge above the wood trim next to the companionway. Am I missing some additional fastening or have I just been too timid with pulling it down? I'd rather not break it but I would like to have access to install a battery monitor. I'd like to hear from some of you who have removed the panel to gain access to the wiring.

Mine has a couple of screws through the wood trim which secure the front of that panel from underneath. They’re hard to see.

Thank you! I assume the screws are accessed by pulling the wood plugs out of the trim or are the hidden on the back side of the trim?

I would think so. Looks like the plugs were removed by the previous owner on my boat.
