Wind

Post by coolchange »

Raise your hand if you agree that these boats, or at least the 27fc, are more than a little bit of a handful in close quarters and wind.

also, I was out on the river (willamette in Oregon) and the wind (reported to be 10-13) was coming straight to the stern and against the current...causing swing from beam to beam even with a large sea anchor...the good news is this action makes for a nice "troll" albeit side to side..and with wakes of passing boats a pretty nice "jig" or backbounce...Still didn't catch anything but a great day on the water.

I believe we share the same agreement with the prey: We leave them alone and they let us read our Kindles without any disturbance.

We certainly have had our fun with our Mary Jo when we took her down the ICW, dealing with 50+ knot winds on anchor or the worst...getting walked by sportfishing boats and jet skis in Miami! She kept us safe but boy was it tough! Also agree with her trolling speed / jigging abilities, especially on the Chesapeake....this was our catch last year....guess we can call her the Albin 27 Fishing Cruiser!
