Vetus thruster zinc?

Post by sailonset »

One good tip I learned from the NE Boat Show was that the bow thruster has a zinc. Reasonable enough. Yup, it's in the manual and goes behind the prop. So somehow the prop must come off. Either our '85 27FC is different or bottom paint has obscured the nuts and/or bolts. Or something else entirely! Below are views from both sides. There is a zinc, in the tunnel! Is this an alternative way to protect the Vetus?

The small Vetus has a zinc below the leg..(on the Albin 28 TE Anyways)
Takes a 10 mm socket or wrench to replace it:
This one maybe:

Thanks for that idea. The boatzincs (good folks) page led me to the Vetus page and there are shown a variety of anodes. There's even a rectangular zinc like the one on our 27. As well as mention of a small drive without any! Think time to contact Vetus.
