Gunnel cap Albin36

I have my Albin36 out of the water for yard repairs. Prior to my acquiring the boat some one painted the gunnel cap. We have removed the railings and paint from the gunnel cap (the wood is beautiful). Some of the gunnel cap suffered damage. The cap seams to be a very tight, dense teak . If anyone knows for sure I would like to know. Thanks

It's teak on our '79 Albin 36. I'd suspect teak.

My 1983 40 is teak. I'm sure yours is also.

Thanks for feed back I also thought teak but thought I would check, If any one knows were to get a four foot piece of the cap it would be appreciated.Thanks

I suspect you'll have to source the raw material and mill it to size and shape. It won't be cheap. If you have a local marine consignment or salvage place near you, you might check their inventory.
