WTB Inflatable RIB alum dbl floor under 9' - Albin 28T
New boat owners looking for a capable inflatable RIB aluminum with double floor so we, dog, and cargo stay dry.
We've been looking online, made a visit to nearby West Marine, and have seen a couple of possibilities, but are unaware of dealers in the South Coast MA area with any variety of inflatable's on display. The nearby West Marine, only has a limited display, and don't even have a 260 to look at, just larger boats. Think we might be looking for a Mercury 270 Aluminum RIB, and would probably use Weaver Davits and swivel lift system to make life easy for us old codgers.
If you have similar to sell, or recommendation, would love to hear from you.

Monahan's Marine in Weymouth carries Highfield RIBS and their website shows a fair number available / on display. The Highfields have gained a strong reputation amongst cruisers and are dimensionally construction wise the same as Zodiac. The are worth a look and close to your neighborhood.

Great dinghy. That's the same that I have. Bought it in 2011 and zero issues. Here it is in the box in case you consider shipping.....

Box looks familiar: I had this dink delivered from Defender but can never pack it that good: The factory probably used vacuum packing to get it really compact.

I have a zodiac hurricane. It has an aluminum hull and weighs 48 pounds. It is very stable. I paid $350 for it ten years ago and use it every summer. It is not for sale.

You may want to check out Land Boat Co in Bristol RI. I have not been there yet but I am also in the market for a RIB. They come up on a Craigslist search for Providence. Looks like they have several boats. Just a short ride for you.

Re: WTB Inflatable RIB alum dbl floor under 9' - Albin 28T
Just to wrap this one up...Thanks for the recommendations. Gotta love this group - Got questions, somebody has answers!!! We found the Highfield 260 Classic to be the right boat for us at Maritime Solutions in Portsmouth, RI. Got a good deal at the Hartford Boat Show. It is a double aluminum floor RIB with bow locker. Only 8'6" LOA so should be a good fit on the TE28 with Weaver davits on the swim platform. Went back and forth with Monahan's in Weymouth, MA and Maritime Solutions, with Maritime Solutions being able to offer a slightly better package price based on availability. Sourced a trailer from Atlantic Boats in Wareham, MA since we know the folks there, and they've been a great help to us in the past with our Bristol Skiff motor and trailer.

What did you go with for a outboard? Are going with the snap debits?

Re: WTB Inflatable RIB alum dbl floor under 9' - Albin 28T
Sorry for the very late answer - we added a Tohatsu 6HP. In the process of ordering Kato Island Davits because they provide a complete lift capacity for our small RIB, keep the dink clear of the swim platform, and will not significantly block the rear view from the helm
Pic below is from Greg's Albin 28 TE - Magic Measurements are from our boat, just to provide an idea of what may be required to get a good fit.

Re: WTB Inflatable RIB alum dbl floor under 9' - Albin 28T
I carry our Walker Bay plastic dinghy mounted on the stern platform. The problem for me is that it completely obscures the stern light - and I’m often out in the dark, way pre-dawn. Not found a seamanlike answer yet - I just strap a dinghy light (with tape to shade 180 degrees of it) to the aft end of my rigid Bimini frame.
Really not a good answer........... Still looking for a better one.

David can't you run with your red & green and a white all around up top. That takes the Stern light out of the equation.

That's what I have done on both of my Albins. Disconnect the stern light at the helm switch and connect the all around as steaming.
