Block Heater Yanmar 6lp stp

Post by Jkraft »

Hi all, does anyone here know if it’s possible to add a block heater to the yanmar 315 6lp stp? It starts fine even when it’s in the twenty’s but I’m thinking this is something I could add and use it year around to reduce start up smoke and overall longevity. My slip backs up to a restaurant and given that, I’m usually untied before I fire it up to reduce disturbing them. Thanks.

Pretty sure it can be retrofitted. There are two M18 bolts in the intercooler where it should go. I’ve drilled one of mine out and tapped a 1/8npt fitting in it when I installed my boost gauge recently. Cost to retrofit - unknown but anything is possible.
