We got an old JRC RADAR 1000 with Driftless rhat had the antenna monted on the front deck stretching a bit over the original wood mast. I’m debating if its worth keeping and make a new mast but it has to fold and it looks like the original mast foot is not nearly rigid enough. Quite a project on top of the other stuff im doing. How useful is a radar in long island sound? I can see it as very valuable pre GPS. Any ideas on mast or opionion on radar utility?
