Opening ports aft cabin?
Anyone install opening ports in the aft cabin in the side of the boat just below the rubrail? Any compelling reason not to do it?

Re: Opening ports aft cabin?
I intend to replace both the front and rear curved windows with custom molded fiberglass panels, each incorporating a pair of flat areas for Beckson portlights. Both original windows are badly crazed. The rubber H-gasket for the panels should sort of preserve the original styling of the exterior, or the project can even be reversed by some future owner.

Resale value?
I once looked to purchase a boat with opening ports installed in the hull sides by a PO. I passed. The ports were a contributing factor in my decision.
Screw holes? No big deal. Holes cut into the hull sides? Ouch! ...Just me.
