I just purchased a 98 TE but it did not come with air. Does anyone know about a portable A/C unit I can use for now That works with the 28

If you want to add permanent A/C to the boat there are a number of good posts. For temporary installs I believe several members have the hatch mounted portable unit made by Cruisair.

I also have a 28 TE, 1998. I purchased a MarinAire for$1600.00 in January of 2015. The unit consisted of 6000 BTU self contained air conditioner, circulating pimp and a control panel, The unit was installed by a local vendor for $1300.00. The unit was installed over the bow thruster with enough clearance to gain access to the bow thruster. The vent was located just forward of the starboard hanging locker. I believe the 28,s came with a thru-hull for the ac pickup, mine did. The 6000 BTU unit is fine for the cabin. If you have drop curtains you might want to go up a size to cool the helm area or run a secondary vent to that area. Check out Master Robs thread he has excellent pictures. Or you could make it a DIY self project when time permits.
