LD28 Timing belt cover

Post by Gunny »

Anyone have an extra (ha) cover laying around? In middle of rework and need a replacement.
Thanks

No, but since you're from Spartanburg, here's a little off topic trivia: Spartanburg was once the home of a WWI Army training base known as "Camp Wadsworth" It was a temporary cantonment, so nothing remains of it today. My grandfather trained there in 1917 as part of the 27th Div/NY National Guard before shipping off to France. Also, some of my wife's 19th century ancestors were from there, including some CSA vets.

Quite a history in these parts. I was raised on the fringes of what was the old Camp Wadsworth. As a kid we roamed the old buildings and grounds. As we got older we would race junkers on the old concrete roads. At that time some of the old buildings were still throughout the area. Ammo bunkers and warehouses mostly. Some of the old officers housing was still in use up into the eighties in the city. Some cool history in the area and thanks for mentioning it.

Hey Gunny,

I know I have one, actually I think I have 2..

I left mine off after all the crap I went through removing it and installing it a half dozen times also, I believe its more important for it to be in place in the automotive/other industrial applications of this engine. Situations where mud, water etc is flying all around the engine. Im hoping that I'll never have to deal with mud, water etc flying around my bilge so I left it off. I will say, it is one more belt flying around to grab a hold of a line, a shirt sleeve..whatever in the bilge, I'll roll the dice. I like having constant visual inspection of that part's status.

If you are still interested in having a cover, send me a pm or email.
