Hi everyone,
I introduced myself to the group back in February and I thought I would update my introduction by letting everyone know that my search for an A27 FC was successful. It wasn't in quite the condition I was hoping for but the price was right. The engine, transmission and hull were excellent but the hull to deck joint and deck needs work. I am keeping the boat at the Chipman Point marina on lake Champlain. I will definitely be looking for advice from the group. I am anxious to be taking the boat on the canals and helping to maintain a wonderful boat.

Welcome to AOG and congratulations on your purchase. What year and which engine do you have? Good luck with your project and enjoy summer on Champlain, we hope to make it there in the next couple of years.

Welcome Scott, gotta love the 27fc, what seems to be the issue with the hull deck joint an deck? With our boat those are about the only areas we didn't have to address.

Several inches of rubber at the hull deck join near the bow is missing.

Re: New Member Feb - Update
Dean, About the only source now for the rubrail is Hamilton Marine of Maine. I'd recommend you order their catalog, as it has a lot of items that are pertinent to our boats. Between them and Defender, we can pretty much rebuild our boats except for the major mechanical parts. If your hull/deck joint isn't leaking, maybe you just need to replace a section of rubrail. Anyway, congrats on the new acquisition and we look forward to seeing more of you here on AOG. Ben

Great news, Dean! If you find yourself heading north instead of south, be sure to let me know.

Dean: Congra's on your successful search. All boats need something and part of the fun is making it fit you and your needs. Solid mechanics is great place to begin.
