If the coupler was fit at the machine shop it should be no more than: tap tap tap done to seat it on the shaft.
Not that I believe it's related to your shaft wobble but if the torsional coupling is failing why didn't you replace it when doing this work, you were half way there?

Budget issues. I will try and get it done soon. Question on the torsion plate, I want to do the job while in the water. Is it possible to remove the tranny enough to get to the plate without removing the shaft? Or can I slide the shaft back until it hits the rudder giving me enough room? Info appreciated. Mike.
