Hi All,
I was outside the 3 mile limit and tried to use my discharge pump, the pump activates, but does not empty the tank. Any thoughts on how to trouble shoot this?
thanks

Re: overboard discharge pump
You may have a two way valve that changes from the deck pump out line to the macerator pump line. Also the thru hull needs to be open. There have been cases of the impeller becoming dislodged from the shaft because of damage but check all the valves first.

Re: overboard discharge pump
Thanks Mike, I'll check it again over the weekend, in thinking on it, the mechanic who was working on the engine, closed the thru hull valve, which I didn't know, I tried to use the discharge pump and as I stated, it didn't work, when I got back to the dock and opened the engine hatch, I noticed the valve was closed, I opened it, and it won't work, I can hear the pump activating, but nothing is pumped out of the tank, I now wonder if trying to use it with the valve closed, broke something..........??

Re: overboard discharge pump
Yes it might of but better than tge hose blowing off and making a stinky mess! Check for a wye valve to the deck pump out fitting.
