Bought a new to me 1996 Albin 28 Tournament Express. I have switches at the helm for a fore and aft bilge. Nothing happens when I turn on the aft bilge switch, fuse is good.
1.. Where is the aft pump and how do I get to it.?
2. Is there a float switch for the aft bilge, if so where?
3. Does the pump work manually and via the float or just the float?
4. does the pump come on via a float switch if the batteries are switched off?
Thanks

Re: 28 tournament express aft bilge pump
After thirty years, the answers could be almost anything.
Originally, the aft bilge pump was likely a diaphragm pump (Jabsco 36680-2000 or similar) located on the equipment platform under the helm seat. The float switch is likely way down in the bilge under the aft-most part engine. I could only see ours with a flashlight. The pump should work manually with the switch and automatically via a float switch. Whether it operates with the battery switch off depends on how it's wired.

Mine had the three switches as well. But only the diaphragm pump at the keel under the engine and forward one. The wiring was tucked up in the harness on the transom for the aft that I added.

Catilina_Mike, How did you access the switch under the rear of the engine?

Re: 28 tournament express aft bilge pump
The switches were on the dash. I added a pump for the (stern) using wire already there. The float for the diaphragm pump is way under the engine thank goodness I never had to change that.
