Glad to be aboard your AOG board and promise to respect your rules.

I am researching trawlers trying to decide in a systematic fashion what MV will work best based on my budget. My wife ans I are <5 years from retirement (sooner if the stock market turns North for a while!) and would like to find a nice previously owner trawler in good condition that we can handle for cruising the ICW, Bahamas and maybe doing the Great Loop.

We know we want a fiberglass hull, diesel engine, draft less than 5' and length between 32' and 39'. Beyond that we are open to opinions of current and previous owners of any reputable MV.

In case you are wondering about the user name - it was the tail number of my last airplane. Sold the wings (an airplane is a hole in the sky...) and headed from the clouds to the water.

Welcome to the group. Retirement? Cruising the loop? A man after my own heart.
Take a look at the 36 ET. Might be what your looking for. Or, there are still A-27s out there.

You are certainly analyitical, that's for sure. Just one question, what does "MV" stand for?
