Engine Battery Albin 28TE

Post by Wilkie »

Just purchased a 1998 28T.

Is the Engine Battery wired so it is separate from
The House Batteries? Ie: If the house batteries are dead the engine will start!!!

not sure I understand the question, I'm thinking you should have a battery switch, probably in the cabin, near the stairs to enter the cabin, it would have a number 1, number 2, and a "both" setting, you'll have to figure out which battery is number 1, and number 2, one is for the house, the other for the engine, I leave mine on both unless I'm going to be anchored up for a long period of time, then I'll switch it over to the house battery, then I know I have my engine battery fully charged and won't have any issues starting it.

Gregg,

Maybe next Summer we could met? We are at the Swansea Marina!!

Anyways, there is a way to wire the Ejgine Battery so it does not drain when the switch is on All!! Heard Albin was wired that way but you suggestion is a good one!! Thanks!!

We have owned sailboats in the past!! First venture onto a Powerboat!!!

I isolated my House Batteries from my Starting Battery, so regardless of the condition of the house batteries you can get the engine started.

Hi Wilkie,
We live in Falmouth, and keep the boat at Popes Island Marina, in New Bedford Harbor, I've done a lot of work to the boat, so if you have any questions, I'll try to help. always nice to hook up and meet a fellow Albin owner, we have four other Albin 28's in our marina.

HI Wilkie,

For access to documentation, I think you need a higher level membership. I am not sure the level.
