HIN -1985 Albin 27 SC

I'm trying to register my Albin in Massachusetts., which requires the hull number. The HIN on my 1985 Albin 27 SC is a bit hard to discern... the model is a single cabin, see photo.

I've made a few tracings, and it appears that the HIN is:

AUL 27217 K 485

Can anyone confirm that this is correct? Of concern are the first

Oops... of concern are mainly the first three letters - AUL ?

My HIN is AVL*********. It's also not easy t read.

I thought this was a bit odd, but I think I noticed a second HIN stamp on the hull-liner in the forward cabin of my 1989 27FC. I believe it was under the collapsable counter at the end of the dinette counter. My HIN starts (as I read it) with "HUL".

I'm going to guess that both AVL and HUL are really AUL. All of the later models begin with AUL. Key word in my first sentence is "guess". I could be wrong on the 25's, 27's, etc.

That is correct that the HIN number is also located under the lift-up end of the galley countertop on my 27FC. "AUL" are the first three identifiers of all albin HIN's as far as I know. Next is the model # of the boat, followed by the sequence number of production (but they started at # 101), next the month of the build "A"= january,"B" is feb etc, the hull year (single digit), and finally the model year(two digits). Thus my HIN of AUL27402E787 says my vessel was Albin 27 #302, produced in May of '87, and model year of 1987. I think?!

First, my apologies for this very late response and thank you for the information shared! I broke my hip in two places (skiing) in February (shortly after my 74th birthday!) and my Albin restoration effort has been mostly on hold since, but now I'm back at it...

Thank you to all that have responded, especially Tego. The responses tell me (if I'm correct) that my boat - AUL 27217 K 485 - was the 117th built, build date was November, 1984, and model year is 1985.
