A25 Swim Platform Replacement

Post by cmoffatnc1 »

Our swim platform has seen better days and needs to be replaced. Has anyone found any swim platforms that are available off the shelf that work or has everyone had to custom make theirs? Thanks.

Is the metal frame of your swim platform still good? Maybe you could just replace the wood on it? If you are not interested in replacing the wood and the frame is still good, i would be very interested in buying that from you.

Our platform had been reduced in size and I am not sure about the frame, it is on the floor at the boatyard and I will get a photo on Monday. If you want it you can have it for shipping but I think it is at end of life. I bought 4 stainless steel brackets from a Cross Craft ski boat and a 72” inch teak platform from Whitecap that is being customized. I will post a photo when it is complete. I am lucky to have found a very talented man to do the work.

Awesome!!! Looking forward to the pictures of your old platform as well as the new one once it’s done. Hopefully your old frame can work for me.

I am sorry, I have been to the boat yard several times and each time the old platform has been covered in misc debris. I am not sure what is junk and what they need for reassembly so I didn't want to rearrange. I have told them not to throw it out until I can get a photo to you.

This is the new swim platform. It is a stock teak platform that we had modified to fit the transom. The fiberglas was added at the perimeter. (Fiberglas isn't completely painted in photo.) It will rest on 4 stainless steel brackets we bought on E-bay that were originally on a Cross Craft ski boat. Cannot wait to see it on the boat.

The new platform is awesome!!! Were the ebay brackets at the correct angle? I am very interested in your old platform as I’m mounting an outboard bracket similar to the one I. Your pictures on my boat as well.does it break down possibly to make shipping reasonable?

The bay brackets were not exactly the correct angle but I have a magician working on the boat who is casting some wedges for each bracket that will get everything lined up.

I will have to look again when I am at the yard next. From memory that platform is pretty heavy, won't be cheap shipping I don't think, but allow me to look more closely.
