Recently purchased 1983, 40' Albin double cabin trawler. Previous boat owner experience amounted to several Old Town, Penobscot canoes. Moved to Slidell, LA from Penobscot, ME. Jan. 2006 after Katrina. Currently living aboard the "Naomi Marie" in Bonfuouca Marina. Have several leaks in stateroom & "V" berth. Considering replacing teak decks or at least removing existing decks and filling and re-fiberglassing. Any thoughts or insight into this, which is most likely a perennial problem with through-fastened teak decks, will be greatly appreciated. Also, does anyone know what the core is on this vessel-balsa, plywood, foam, solid fiberglass???
