Albin 28 transom hull extension

Hello everyone, I was just looking at a 28TE with an extension of the hull on the transom.
Can anyone tell me more about this as I haven’t seen this before.
Pro’s/cons’s etc..

That’s a new one on me. I can only think the owner of that boat has got some additional weight in the stern or is using it as an extra fuel tank?
