Yanmar tachometer

Post by mars075 »

my albin yanmar tach is bouncing around, and I think it has to be replaced. I called Yanmar and they want $700

for a new tach. Apparently, the whole panel has to be replaced.
Where can I just get only a replacement tach, or if I have to replace the entire panel, can I get a used one

Thanks for any help

Yanmar tachometer

There are a number of threads re Yanmar tach replacement. Suggest you consider a digital tack replacement, like the one manufactured by Aetna. The Yanmar tach has a reputation for poor accuracy. The Aetna tach will fit in the standard Yanmar factory panel. Don.

Check the connections on the sensor first - it’s most likely that’s the problem. The spade connections sometimes get a small amount of corrosion in them. A quick clean and they’re good as new.
