Air conditioner - intermittent error message

Post by Nancy »

We have an Anchor Manufacturing model PH16-IR-D air conditioner on our 2005 35CB. We've just begun using it for the season, and it is cooling well, at least for now, but is sometimes flashing "LPF" alternating with the temperature. I'm guessing this is a low freon error message. I can't find anything in the manual about this and would welcome any input about how to proceed.

Have been doing some googling. It's possible that the error message is caused by low water temperature (currently ~62 degrees) and will go away when it warms up. She says hopefully. Another possibility is restricted air flow. Need to check/clean the intake strainer.

It's low pressure for sure. As the manual says low freon or low water temp. Now the reason the low water temp is because it also lowers the pressure in the condenser. This lowers the pressure in the evaporator as well... In commercial refrigeration/ AC systems we use a valve that keeps the condenser pressure up where it is supposed to run. I would not worry about it yet until the water heats up but you could slow the raw water flow a bit if you need it to run at cooler temps.
